Looks to me like he had the lens wide open and is not used to focusing old lenses.
Composition is terrible, I know its just for test shots but still. Could be a bad copy of the lens. Looks like all shots wide open. Few old lenses perform well wide open on digital cameras. Step down to f8 or f11. CA looks bad but it does on most old lenses wide open. Bad review, I have a soligor 450 f8 and it takes beautiful pictures if you use it right.
The pictured lens is a late 1970’s (after 1977) to mid 1980’s lens manufactured for Soligor by Sun Optics. The Gallery images are soft. However, that could be for a number of reasons: misalignent tof the elements from abuse (can be a problem with any used lens) or mistakes by the photographer. It seems that the photographer did not properly focus on what the subject of the photo was, and, did not account for the shallow depth of field of a long telephoto. Long lenses require proper technique and practice.
Neither photos neither lens description do not deserve to be put in gallery. Come on!
I have always liked Soligor lenses, I still have a 2.8 35mm auto and that is a great lens. I think the fault with this lens on revue, is that of the photographer, vis, finger trouble!! Advice? Err, try the other foot?
