Tamron SP 28-80mm F/3.5-4.2 27A Lens Review
This lens has a little bit of everything, wide-angle, macro and portrait lens. Quality is good to average, certainly not top at each field area but it performs quite well. If you have no space to bring quality prime lenses this lens would be a good choice. Colour rendering is very nice, a well built lens both mechanically and optically.

I have seen some exceptional images with this lens but also a large number of soft images too. The lens is very will built and I think it has generally been unfairly rated as mediocre. The lens can be tricky to focus and unlike some lenses it does not snap into sharp focus like some lenses do. The data at http://www.adaptall-2.org show that it should be exceptionally sharp. I like my copy of this lens.
